Since our founding in 1972, our aim has been to build trust and convey a sense of security through quality, reliability, and proximity. Our family-run business, now in its second generation, is a B2B operation that has always maintained its familial character. We also focus on sustainability, both in terms of our relationships with partners and customers, as well as through our universal environmental awareness. For example, we avoid unnecessary paper consumption by sending electronic order confirmations and invoices, and we always develop our products with the best possible environmental friendliness in mind.

History
The History of VAR GmbH
VAR GmbH is a medium-sized, independent company.
The extensive range of articles and products that we manufacture ourselves in our own German production facilities in Marl (Ruhr Area) and Bösensell (Münsterland) demonstrates our know-how in the field of environmental protection and environmental technology, acquired through more than 50 years of manufacturing and distribution.
The distribution of our products domestically and abroad (recyclable material and waste collection devices, ashtray columns, garbage bag stands, collection trays and barrel tools as well as urban furniture and dog toilets) is exclusively through B2B sales organizations such as purchasing associations, wholesalers (online shops) or mail order catalogs. We also work with Warex Valve in Senden (manufacturing of shut-off valves and pressure locks for the chemical, bulk material, food and water industries).
1972
Company founded by Mr. Fritz Schmidt, businessman, in Gevelsberg as AREAL GmbH in Vreden. Start of production of waste collectors/ash trays.
1977
Change of company name to VAR Vehicle and Apparatus Construction GmbH.
1978
Beginning of concrete silo manufacturing. Start of production of car and truck trailers.
1981
Relocation of headquarters to Marl and registration in the commercial register of Marl (HRB 2430).
1989
End of Production for Concrete Silo Manufacturing.
1990
End of Paper Incinerator Production.

Start of Production of Recyclable Material Separation Systems

We also do everything to ensure that the products arrive not only on time, but also undamaged! To guarantee this, they are professionally and safely packaged for transport. Upon request, we can make the drop shipment on behalf of the customer completely neutral – and this throughout Europe.
To meet the growing demands, a warehouse was built in 2008, which increased the total storage capacity to 5000 Euro pallet spaces and significantly optimized the delivery process.
We achieve our high delivery capability through the interaction of our own production, extensive stock inventory, and sophisticated logistics. Accelerated by electronic
order processing (EDI) and a fast processing system, we send multiple parcel services and freight forwarders to the destination daily. The customer benefits from high product availability and fast delivery.
PRODUCTION AND QUALITY
THE PATH TO HIGHEST QUALITY
Quality = Expensive? Not with us! In our two production facilities, we develop and manufacture high-quality solutions with the aim of making them durable, efficient, and economical. Through our own metal processing, we are able to produce sustainable, economical products for various environmental technology purposes using materials such as steel, aluminum, and stainless steel (V2A / V4A).
To ensure that our products always meet customer requirements, our high standards of quality assurance guarantee consistent quality throughout the entire manufacturing process, up to the final inspection before storage or shipping.
Every employee is well-trained to act accordingly in their area of responsibility and work hand in hand with the entire production chain. Additionally, each product receives a control number that can be used to determine exactly when it was manufactured.
Another quality feature is the QM system according to
DIN 9001 as well as corresponding TÜV seals.

Since 1996, we have been producing according to the quality standards of
DIN EN ISO 9001. This quality system aims to prevent errors. By doing so, we reduce the risk of complaints and thus increase both your and our economic efficiency.
